Myanmar State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi on Monday called on Congress President Sonia Gandhi at her residence here.
Congress leaders described the meeting as a courtesy call. The meeting went on for 45 minutes. The Congress President and Suu Kyi go back a long way and share a good rapport.
The Congress party later posted photographs of Sonia Gandhi welcoming Suu Kyi at her residence on its official twitter account.
Suu Kyi studied in the Convent of Jesus and Mary School in New Delhi and also graduated from Lady Shri Ram College in 1964.
Suu Kyi is on four-day visit to India from October 16. She was in Goa to attend the Bimstec-Retreat and BRICS-Bimstec Leaders' Outreach Summit.
