Leader of Myanmar's National League for Democracy Aung San Suu Kyi on Wednesday met Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing for the third time on rule of law and continued undertakings for lasting peace.
Present at the meeting at the military headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw were Lt. Gen Ye Aung from the military, and NLD senior members U Zaw Myint Maung and Tin Myo Win, Xinhua reported.
Suu Kyi and Min Aung Hlaing met on January 25 for the second dialogue.
The new term of sessions of the House of Representatives, the House of Nationalities and the Union Parliament, produced through November 8 general election, began on February 1 and February 8 respectively after the expiry of the previous parliament on January 30.
Three parliamentary groups from the two Houses and the military will nominate one each of their respective candidate for presidential vote on March 17. The one who gains the most votes will be named as the president, while the remaining two vice presidents, according to the constitution.
The presidential election will be followed by the formation of new government and power transfer to new head of state will be on March 31 when the current government term expires.

The NLD won an absolute majority of the parliamentary seats in the November 8 election, which enables it to form a new government independently under the constitution and has right to nominate the president and two vice presidents.
According to the existing 2008 constitution, besides the elected representatives, the military possesses 25 percent of non-elected parliamentary seats at each level of parliament, directly nominated by the commander-in chief of the defence services.
