Swaraj Abhiyan's press conference on Saturday to attack the liquor policy of the AAP government in Delhi was ironically held at the Press Club of India (PCI), which itself serves drinks.
Journalists covering the event wondered if another venue could have been chosen for talking on an issue aimed at showing lapses in the liquor policy of the Aam Aadmi Party government.
Asked about Swaraj Abhiyan's choice of venue on the issue concerning liquor, its national spokesperson Anupam however said that the PCI was a regular venue for them to hold press conferences.
Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav said at the press conference that his organisation was not in favour of prohibition but demanded stricter regulation and control of the liquor policy from the AAP government. He also raised questions about a steep hike in the number of liquor stores opened in the city in the last two years.
