The South Korean doctor who caused Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Park Tae-hwan to fail a doping test was fined on Thursday.

The Seoul Central District Court ordered the doctor, a 46-year-old surnamed Kim, to pay a fine of one million won ($850) for failing to leave records of injecting Park with Nebido, which contains testosterone, a substance banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), according to Yonhap news agency, Xinhua reported.

Park, the men's 400 metres freestyle gold medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, is serving an 18-month ban that ends in March next year.
