The 0.3 per cent death rate in Swine flu cases reported in the national capital is much less compared to the national average of 5 per cent, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said here on Friday.
Addressing the media, the minister said that out of the 2,198 cases reported in Delhi till October 9, only eight persons had died, adding that the death rate was around 0.3 per cent.
Across the country, a total of 37,107 cases were reported, out of which 2,025 persons had died and this took the death rate to around 5 per cent, Jain said.
The number of deaths and rate of deaths were very high particularly in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the minister said.
Jain added that a total of 368 chikungunya and 2,152 dengue cases had been reported in the city and one person had died due to dengue.
