Syrian government Tuesday urged the international community to stop the "Israeli aggression that is threatening the peace and security in the region".
Israel has escalated its brutal aggression on the Palestinian people and continued its crime by committing a massacre against the civilians in the Palestinian territories, especially Gaza, Xinhua quoted Syrian foreign ministry as saying in statement.
Israel's "bloody campaign" runs counter to its pledges and the 4th Geneva Agreement, the ministry said in the statement.
Meanwhile, the ministry also condemned the "silence" of the UN Security Council and the Arab League toward the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, while expressing the Syrian government's solidarity with the Palestinians.
The Syrian administration of President Bashar al-Assad has for long projected itself as a defender of the Arab national right in the face of Israel.
Syria is home to around 500,000 Palestinians residing in nine major camps in Daraa and Damascus, Homs, Hama, Latakia and Aleppo, and some living in random clusters.
