The BJP's national election committee is expected to finalise the party's alliance in Tamil Nadu Saturday, said a party leader here.
Speaking to reporters, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary and state in-charge P. Muralidhar Rao said: "The state election committee is meeting tonight (Friday night) and preparing its report to the party president. The report will be given to him tomorrow (Saturday)."
He said the alliance talks and seat sharing numbers are almost over with MDMK and PMK.
"The DMDK leaders were not able to participate in today's (Friday) meeting as they were busy with starting their election campaign," Rao said.
Queering the pitch, the DMDK - even as the alliance talks were on - announced the party's candidates for five constituencies. The party founder actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth also began his election campaign Friday.
Rao said difficulty will be there in forming an alliance amongst parties that have influence in the same areas.
