Mobile telephony operator Tata Teleservices Friday launched data card with WiFi facility in order to cash in on the growing demand for wireless internet connectivity while on the move.
In a statement issued in the Tamil Nadu capital, Tata Teleservices said it has introduced Photon Max WiFi, through which subscribers could create their own WiFi zone anytime, anywhere, to access internet.
The company said subscribers can access internet through various devices like cell phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.
Currently, data cards enable only a single user to access internet. A WiFi inbuilt Photon Max dongle/data card would enable five users to access internet from different instruments at the same time.
India is now the world's third-largest internet user after the US and China, with more than 165 million internet users.
It is estimated that by 2015 India will cross the 330 million internet users mark.
