A teenage romance led to the death of a boy after he was attacked with sharp weapons by relatives of the girl before a kangaroo court in West Bengal's Bankura district, according to police.
The 17-year-old boy Momin Ali was declared dead in the village health centre.
A police officer said Ali was romantically involved with a classmate, who was of the same age.
As the two families resented their relationship, a kangaroo court was set up on Wednesday to settle the dispute. However, the girl's relatives pounced on Ali and repeatedly attacked him with sharp weapons when the court was dealing with the matter.
No one has been arrested so far.
