A 13-year-old boy accused of stabbing a dairy owner to death in New Zealand Tuesday requested a court to grant him bail.
The boy has been an accused in the killing of Indian-origin man Arun Kumar, 57, in June at the Railside Dairy in Henderson in west Auckland, which the victim owned, the New Zealand Herald reported.
A bail application for the teenager was heard in the Auckland High Court.
The court has reserved its decision after lengthy submissions.
The accused is currently in the care of a youth facility.
His co-accused, a 12-year-old boy, was initially charged only with assaulting Arun Kumar with intent to rob but police later added a count of manslaughter against him.
The two accused are due to face trial at the high court in November.
