Tennis: Nedovyesov top seed, Somdev third

World No 118 Aleksander Nedovyesov of Kazakhstan has been given top billing at the KPIT -MSLTA ATP Challenger tennis tournament commencing here Monday.

Asian Games team gold medallist Nedovyesov is followed by Russian Aleaxander Kudryatsev ranked 126 currently.

Indian Davis Cupper Somdev Devvarman currently ranked 143, is seeded third ahead of Asiad bronze medallist Yuichi Sugita of Japan (No.154) while Yuki Bhambri (183) is seeded seven.

Recently crowned National champion Vishnu Vardhan and runner-up Siddarth Rawat along with upcoming junior Sasikumar Mukund have been awarded wild cards along with local boy Arjun Kadhe for the main draw.

Meanwhile, in the qualifying competition, Thai twins Sonchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana entered the second round.

Sanchai thrashed compatriot Jatuporn Na Lamphun 6-2, 6-2, while Sonchat ousted Shahbaaz Khan with an identical score.
