Visitors will continue to witness the flag lowering ceremony at the international border near here despite a terror attack in Punjab's Gurdaspur district, a top BSF official said here on Monday.
"The visitors would be allowed to witness the flag lowering ceremony as usual," Border Security Force (BSF) deputy inspector general, Amritsar range, M.F. Farooqui told IANS.
At least five people were killed and 10 injured in the district's Dinanagar town when heavily armed terrorists wearing army fatigues hijacked a car, peppered the bus stand with bullets and stormed a police station -- shattering two decades of calm in the state.
Over 10,000 visitors converge at the Wagah-Attari border every day to watch the drill performed by the BSF troopers and Pakistan Rangers before sunset.
