A red alert was issued in Pakistan's Punjab after terrorist-threats to Chinese nationals residing in Pakistan as also schools, jails, airports, and the civil and military leadership, media reported Thursday.
Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada told a press conference here that the province had been placed on red-alert in the light of these threats, The News International reported.
The minister said the authorities apprehended that there could be incidents of kidnapping of school children.
Khanzada further said a list of those facilitating terrorists was being prepared.
Inspector General of Police (Punjab) Mushtaq Sukhera said a ban was being placed on publications carrying provocative content and strict action would be taken against those publishing and distributing such material.
