Boca Juniors President Daniel Angelici has claimed that Argentine football star Carlos Tevez is not happy in China and will return to the club next January.
"I went to get him in 2015 (from Juventus, Italy), and at the end of 2016, I told him he should go to China. It was really for the money," Xinhua news agency quoted Angelici as telling Argentine publication Clarin on Tuesday.
"Now, I believe he will come back in January. He is not happy there."
Tevez did not play on Saturday when his team, Shanghai Shenhua, drew 2-2 against Jiangsu Suning. Furthermore, in more than six months in Shanghai, Tevez has only played nine of 18 games.
On Monday, the newspaper Cronica published a poll of 4,500 Boca fans, with a surprising result as 63 percent of them do not want Tevez to return and 37 percent do.
In June, in an interview, Tevez said his move to China allowed him to "give more attention to my children. I won things I had lost during the year and a half I was there."

He also admitted, however, that adapting to Chinese football had "not been easy" due to the lower level of competition than in Europe and South America.
"Football is not so huge here, people do not go to the stadium very much," Tevez added.
