Telugu actor Harshavardhan Rane says he didn't seek any inspiration for his rock star role in upcoming Telugu romance "Prema Ishq Kaadhal" because he wanted to be real and authentic.
"A rockstar, according to my definition, is someone who inspires people around him with something he is best at. In my case, it's music, but I wanted audiences to realise there is a rock star waiting to be unleashed within them as well. This is one of the reasons I didn't seek inspiration from any musician for my role," Harshavardhan told IANS
"Most youngsters are so well-connected with the rock music circle that they will know instantly if I attempt to imitate any rock star. This is why I wanted to remain real and authentic in my role as much as possible," he added.
He underwent a makeover, but didn't try to overdo.
"It's a misconception that all singers need to portray a messed up, dirty look to prove their identity. I don't believe in it and, therefore, tried to portray a very simple yet different look for my character. I spent nearly a week to zero in on the final look," he said.
The film is directed by Pawan Kakineni and also features Vitika, Vishnu and Harish. It is produced by Lucky Media.

"I'm glad that I'm working with a team I know very well. In fact, Pawan and I have already worked together in a short film, therefore, working was so much fun. We are currently shooting in Hyderabad in a coffee shop on a set erected specially for the film," said Rane.
Known for working in films such as "Thakita Thakita" and "Avunu", Harsha, as he is fondly known, also learned to play the guitar for his role.
"I know how to play the acoustic guitar, but I'm learning to play the electric guitar now. I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience," he added.
