The CPI-M believes that any possibility of a Third Front government at the centre would only emerge after the results of the Lok Sabha polls come out, party leader Sitaram Yechury said Wednesday.
Talking to reporters here, the Communist Party of India-Marxist politburo member, said that "any such formation will only emerge in the post-poll scenario".
Yechury recalled that the United Front government headed by H.D.Deve Gowda and later by I.K. Gujral after the 1996 elections and the one headed by V.P.Singh in 1989, both supported by the CPI-M from the outside, were formed after the results came out.
The talk of a Third Front government has gained traction after a number of senior Congress leaders made statements recently hinting the same.
