At least three people were killed in a car bomb attack on the outskirts of Syria's capital city of Damascus Wednesday, the state media reported.

Initial data showed dozens of people suffering injuries in the attack which occurred in Kanakir area. However, the opposition Local Coordination Committees claimed 11 people were killed in the blast, including a child, Xinhua reported.

Over 90,000 people have been killed in the ongoing Syrian conflict which began March 15, 2011.
