Three people were killed and 25 others were injured when a speeding bus overturned on Bansi-Basti highway in Siddhathanagar district of Uttar Pradesh, police said here on Tuesday.
"The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and police has arrested the bus driver. Also, a case of rash driving has been filed against him," a police officer told IANS.
The bus driver lost control while taking a sharp turn near Asnahara temple and ran over three people standing under a tree.
After hitting a tree, the bus turtled and fell into a ditch. In addition, 25 bus passengers were also injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The condition of one of the injured is stated to be serious.
