Writer Aditya Kripalani, who has directed and co-produced a film on his own book "Tikli And Laxmi Bomb", says it is a fun film highlighting the revolution of the sex trade.
The film's poster, released this week, was rather intriguing with a condom on a gun barrel.
Explaining it, Kripalani told IANS: "The gun and the condom just signify the revolution in the sex trade, that's all... Because at some point, the girls create a loyalty programme using condoms so that they are able to get a larger customer base.
"Like how a massage parlour has a stamping loyalty programme. That is what the condom is supposed to do. So, the gun is the revolution and the condoms is the sex trade. So it pretty much means a revolution in the sex trade."
The film features Vibhawari Deshpande and Chitrangada Chakraborty, Suchitra Pillai, Upendra Limaye and Saharsh Kumar Shukla. It is based on gender inequality amongst prostitutes and how two amongst them try and fight the system.
Shot at real locations in Mumbai, the movie has been showcased at different film festivals. Kripalani wants it to reach the maximum audience.
