Moscow, Oct 18 (IANS/TASS) The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has said that the death toll in eastern Ukraine has risen to 3,707 due to the ongoing unrest in the region.
The report also said that 9,075 people have been injured.
The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) believe that the actual toll could be way higher, the report said.
As of Oct 17, 415,000 people have fled Ukraine.
Some 5.2 million people currently reside in conflict-torn areas in eastern Ukraine, the report said.
The Ukraine government and the pro-Russian rebels agreed on a ceasefire Sep 5 in the Belarusian capital of Minsk.
The ceasefire took effect the same day but there have been reports of it being sporadically violated.
