Indo-Japanese joint venture (JV) Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) Thursday reported an overall sales growth of 8 percent during December 2014 at 13,628 units from an off-take of 12,622 units in the corresponding month of 2013.
According to the company, its domestic sales during last month grew by 10 percent and stood at 11,740 units from an off-take of 10,648 units in December 2013.
"In continuation of the November upswing, we have registered growth in the domestic and overall sales in December. This momentum can be attributed to the year ending," said N. Raja, director and senior vice president, sales and marketing, TKM.
The company added that it will study market reaction on discontinuation of excise duty concessions and only after that announce a price revision.
"We expected the government to continue the excise duty concessions as this was supporting the revival of the auto industry after a rather sluggish two years," Raja added.
"We hope that the government would give deeper consideration for the next fiscal budget on structural reforms for the auto sector which is an important part of the 'Make in India' campaign."
