Two coaches of a goods train derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Farukkhabad district on Saturday, a railway official said.
The incident took place near Rajepur village, 1 kilometre from the Kamalganj station at around 6.15 a.m. As a result, rail traffic on the Farukhabad-Kanpur route has been disrupted.
The train's guard has been seriously injured and was rushed to a nearby medical facility, according to the official.
More than 500-metres of rail track has been ripped off and all passenger trains on the route have been stopped.
The cause of the derailment is under probe and the track is likely to be repaired by Saturday afternoon, the official said.
