In a bid to expand its digital presence, the Trinamool Congress Sunday launched a new customised mobile app and introduced a "Didi Direct" section on its website highlighting party chief Mamata Banerjee's campaign for the Lok Sabha polls.
West Bengal's ruling party has also got two Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta, graduates to write blogs showcasing the development world of the state government.
Trinamool national spokesperson Derek O'Brien told a media meet that 31 IIM-Calcutta graduates had applied for an internship program with Trinamool, of whom two have been chosen to assist the party's digital team which is run by volunteers.
"The interns will be writing 40 blogs to highlight the developmental work done by the West Bengal government in various sectors - right from Kanyashree and Jal Dharo Jal Bharo to the maintenance of law and order in Jangalmahal," said O'Brien.
O'Brien also launched the mobile app which is available on Android and Apple platforms and would deliver Trianmool-related news at the touch of a finger on mobiles and tablets among others.
The new "Didi Direct" section on the party's official website www.AITCofficial.org would focus on all news stories and video content related to Banerjee's poll campaign.
Besides the campaign using social media, Banerjee has written a letter to the voters in the state, which would be delivered door-to-door by the party.
