The Left Front Saturday claimed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was not keen to solve the Teesta water sharing and other issues with Bangladesh, and accused the Trinamool Congress of sending illegal money to Bangladesh.

"We have heard that under the supervision of a Trinamool MP, bagfuls of money were being sent to the Bangladesh border from where they were distributed and smuggled to other countries," Left Front chairperson Biman Basu told media persons here.

The BJP too has made similar accusations against the Trinamool parliamentarian accusing him of having links with a Bangladeshi fundamentalist outfit. The parliamentarian has rubbished the allegations.

Referring to Banerjee's last minute pulling out of a visit led by then prime minister Manmohan Singh in 2011 to Bangladesh, Bose said she did it intentionally so that bilateral issues, including the Teesta water sharing agreement, are not resolved.

"There is the problem of the enclaves, the Teesta water sharing agreement and several other bilateral issues which could be solved had she been part of the delegation. But she deliberately pulled out as she is not keen on resolving them," Bose said.

Bose also demanded the chief minister to come clean about her "secret meeting" with Saradha group promoter Sudipta Sen during her official visit to Darjeeling.

He said the Left Front will organise a rally in the city in support of those affected by the Saradha scam.
