Port of Spain (Trinidad), June 23 (IANS/CMC) Trinidad and Tobago's Olympic javelin gold medallist Keshorn Walcott reportedly escaped serious injury following a vehicular accident.
Walcott's manager, Sean Roach, said Saturday that the athlete was heading to the Hasely Crawford Stadium Friday when a car collided with his SUV which triggered another collision, reports CMC.
Roach said Walcott did not sustain any serious injuries but he was examined by his physiotherapist.
Media reports in Trinidad stated that Walcott will not contest the javelin event at the National Senior Track and Field Championships Sunday.
Walcott won Olympic gold at the 2012 London Games, the second Trinidadian to achieve such the feat, following Hasely Crawford's Olympic 100m gold at the 1976 Games in Montreal, Canada.
