After receiving a fresh round of funding, multi-modal train travel app RailYatri.in on Wednesday said it would be using the funds to add more features in the app and strengthen its partner network.
"Our primary objective now is to create more content which will provide extra essential information to the user," the company's vice president and business head Aparajita Mukhopadhyay told IANS over phone.
She said the company has already incorporated information about taxi services and metro railways with the new funds in place. "We are also in talks with hotels for partnering with them," Mukhopadhyay said.
She said her company was looking at evolving into a vacation planner in its long term business plan from the existing trip planner portfolio. "Although it is our long term goal, our initial focus is on strengthening the app," she said.
The tech start-up raised an undisclosed amount of money from Helion Venture Partners, Ujama, Blume Ventures and Omidyar Network.
"While Blume Ventures and Ujama have funded us once in the past, the other two have funded us for the first time," Mukhopadhyay said.
The Noida-based firm uses cloud based data mining technology and Big Data to power the app.
