US President Donald J. Trump is creative, competitive, rule-breaker and also has neurotic tendencies, revealed an analysis of his tweets.

The findings indicate that Trump is indeed a distinct type of person and shows strong features of a so-called Schumpeterian personality.

Described by Austrian-born American economist and political scientist Joseph Schumpeter in the 1930s, the features are very creative, change-oriented, competitive and rule-breaking personality trait -- said to be typical of successful entrepreneurs.

"If social distinction is a core principle of the entrepreneurial personality, then we clearly see this principle reflected in Trump's unusual personality profile," said Christian Fisch from the Trier University in Germany.

"These traits are rather untypical for entrepreneurs since working as an entrepreneur may not only require emotional stability and optimism but also to be able to increase happiness due to procedural utility," added Martin Obschonka from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia.

In addition, the analysis indicates that Trump has neurotic tendencies and experiences underlying low well-being, which may not be necessarily all bad, for it can also stimulate competitiveness.

"May be this high neuroticism is a major motivator to succeed in Trump's entrepreneurial projects in his business life, but also in his role as political leader," Fisch explained in the paper published in the journal Small Business Economics.

For the study, the team analysed how aspects of Trump's personality are revealed in the language he used in the 3200 tweets issued till October 2016 (before he became the President) and compared them with influential and famous business managers including Google's Eric Schmidt, Apple's Tim Cook and Tesla's Elon Musk.

Having entrepreneurial personality traits could be advantageous in leading and governing an entrepreneurial society as a top-down process.

However, it is unclear whether political leaders with an extremely entrepreneurial personality can indeed act strictly entrepreneurially in their highly responsible role, the researchers noted.

Since Trump joined Twitter in 2009, he has posted more than 35,000 tweets, amounting to nearly 12 tweets a day, till May 2017.

With 30 million followers, Trump is the second most followed politician on Twitter after his predecessor Barack Obama who tweeted about four times a day on an average, the study said.
