President-elect Donald Trump officially confirmed that he has selected Steven Mnuchin to be the next Treasury Secretary and Wilbur Ross to serve as Commerce Secretary, media reports said.
"This team will be instrumental in implementing the president-elect's America First economic plan that will create more than 25 million jobs over the next decade," Efe news agency quoted Trump's transition team as saying in a press release.
The US president-elect also said he intended to nominate Todd Ricketts, a co-owner of Chicago Cubs baseball franchise, for the position of Deputy Commerce Secretary.
"Steve Mnuchin is a world-class financier, banker and businessman, and has played a key role in developing our plan to build a dynamic, booming economy that will create millions of jobs," Trump said in the release.
Mnuchin served as Trump's national finance chairman during Trump's Presidential campaign.
Trump also hailed Ross, a billionaire investor, as a great negotiator and an expert in putting companies on a path to success.
