Tuki writes to Governor, says he is taking charge as CM

Congress leader Nabam Tuki on Wednesday wrote to Arunachal Pradesh Governor Tathagata Roy, saying he is taking charge as Chief Minister of the state in view of the Supreme Court verdict to maintain "status quo ante as it prevailed on December 15 last year".

"Resumed my duties as Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in compliance with Supreme Court order," Tuki tweeted.

He also said that he has informed the acting Governor about the same through a letter.

"Informed Honourable Governor regarding the same," he said in another tweet.

Tuki also posted the letter written to the Governor on his Twitter handle.

"Supreme Court has ordered status quo ante as it prevailed on December 15, 2015 to be restored. In view thereof I am resuming my duties as the Chief Minister of the state along with my Council of Ministers with immediate effect," Tuki wrote.

Tuki also stated that he will "serve the people of beautiful state with utmost sincerity" in coming days.

Roy was given the additional charge of Governor of Arunachal Pradesh during the leave of absence of incumbent Governor Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa.
