Two businessmen going to a bank to deposit cash here were shot dead on Monday and another was injured after three masked men opened fired at them and escaped with Rs 25 lakh they had, police said.
The incident occurred at around 10.30 a.m. near Old Grain Mandi in Narela when the attackers, riding two motorcycles, intercepted the car of businessmen Pankaj, 35, Harish, 32, and Amit Goel, 31.
Deputy Police Commissioner Rishi Pal said the gunmen opened indiscriminate fire. "They fired two dozen bullets and decamped with their cash," he said.
Pankaj and Harish died instantly while Goel suffered a bullet wound on his left arm.
Goel stays in Nehru Enclave in Alipur while Harish and Pankaj lived in Nai Basti in Narela.
An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police who was near the spot chased the killers on his motorcycle but they escaped towards the Haryana border, Rishi Pal said.

Police learnt that the businessmen's regular driver did not report for duty on Monday and another employee was engaged in his place.
After the incident, hundreds of shopkeepers gathered at the spot and jammed the road for an hour to protest against the deteriorating law and order in the capital.
