At least two people were killed and 50 wounded when an earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale jolted Pakistan's Sindh province early Friday, authorities said.

The roofs of several buildings in Nawabshah district collapsed due to the intensity of the earthquake, Dawn online reported.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 27 km northeast of Nawabshah with a depth of 15 km, according to the US Geological Survey.

Police and rescue teams shifted the injured to a hospital in Nawabshah, the report said.

The buildings in the affected area were evacuated as fear and panic gripped the people.
