Siculiana (Italy), Feb 19 (IANS/AKI) The corpses of two migrants were recovered by the coast guard from a beach in Siculiana on the southern Sicilian coast while rescuers searched the area for other migrants after 30 reached the shore.

Ten migrants detained by police said there had been 40 passengers aboard the boat that dropped them off close to Siculiana, and that several people had fallen into the water.

Prosecutors have opened a investigation of the case, local daily Il Giornale di Sicilia reported on its website.
