Two people were held at the airport here on Sunday for travelling with foreign currencies valued at Rs 8.60 lakh without valid documents, a customs official said.
The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) intercepted the two Bangkok-bound passengers.
"We have seized a total of $13,000 equivalent to Rs 8,60,600 from the two passengers. One is from Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) and the other from Ambala (Haryana). Both were headed to Bangkok and were to board a Bhutan Airlines flight," said the official.
