Two policemen were killed and one was injured in a gunbattle with Maoist guerrillas in Jharkhand's Godda district on Saturday, police said.
According to police, the gunbattle erupted duringg a combing operation that was launched based on intelligence input sin Sundarphari in Godda district, around 500 km from Ranchi.
One Maoist guerrilla was also injured in the gunbattle.
Police and the Maoist guerrillas exchanged fire for more than three hours.
Maoist guerrillas are active in 18 of Jharkhand's 22 districts.
