Two policemen were killed and five injured in a landmine blast triggered by suspected Maoists in Jharkhand's Palamau district, police said.
According to police, security personnel were travelling in a vehicle when Maoist guerrillas triggered a powerful landmine blast.
Two policemen, including the vehicle's driver, died on the spot while five policemen were seriously injured as the incident took place near Kalapahri situated under Chattarpur police station of Palamau district, around 170 km from Ranchi.
The injured policemen were hospitalised.
Eighteen of Jharkhand's 24 districts are facing the Maoist menace.
