Two Israeli smugglers were shot dead Tuesday near the Israel-Egypt border.
A military spokesperson said the smugglers were killed by Egyptian firing near the border crossing of Nitzana when they were trying to enter the country, Xinhua reported.
According to the spokesperson, drug packages were found on the spot.
The Israel-Egypt border, which stretches over 240 km along the Sinai desert, has been a site of drug trafficking for many years.
