Poor visibility due to dense fog in the national capital affected several trains' arrival and departure on Tuesday, a senior railway official said.
"Two trains were cancelled while departure of 15 others delayed due to the dense fog in Delhi and other parts of Northern India," an official of the Northern Railways told IANS.
Visibility on Tuesday evening slumped below 700 metres.
However, flight operations were not affected.
The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 20.4 degree celsius, a notch below the season's average. The Met Office forecast a clear day on Wednesday.
"There will shallow fog in the morning but the sky will be clear late in the day. Maximum and the minimum temperature of the day is likely to hover around 20 degree and 6 degree celsius," said an official of the India Meteorological Department(IMD).
The minimum temperature of the day was recorded at 6 degree celsius, two notches below the season's average.
Monday's maximum temperature settled at 21 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season while the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.6 degree Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
