The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Wednesday recalled Abdullah Ibrahim Al Shihi, ambassador to Iraq, in the light of the security deterioration in that country, a state media report said.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the UAE's foreign affair ministry expressed its deep concern at the continuation of the policy of exclusion, sectarianism, and marginalisation of basic components of the Iraqi people, Xinhua reported citing Wam news agency.
"The ministry believes such an approach will exacerbate the situation and create a political environment that will lead to a further growth in political tensions and deterioration of the security situation in Iraq," the statement said.
Similar moves were taken earlier this week by the US, Australia, and other countries.
