Three Ugandan women told the Delhi Police Tuesday that they were lured by placement agencies and assured plum jobs in the national capital but were instead forced into sex and drug rackets.
The women registered a complaint with Deputy Commissioner (south and southeast) Nila Mohanan, saying several such placement agencies were operating in and around Delhi.
Following the complaint, police recorded their statements Tuesday after obtaining orders from the Saket district court, a police officer said.
The women said in their statement that they were kept hostage by the drug mafia and forced into sex and drug rings.
They also said they want protection from the government.
After the women met Mohanan Monday, the Delhi government wrote to the external affairs ministry seeking protection for them.

Police said the women were Tuesday sent to the government-run Nari Niketan in west Delhi.
The women lived in the same area in south Delhi where Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti conducted a controversial raid over an alleged drug and sex racket.
