Various global organisations, including UNODC, INTERPOL and World Customs Organisation, will participate in the Movement Against Smuggling and Counterfeit Trade (MASCRADE) to be held here from October 12.
MASCRADE is the fourth international conference by FICCI's Committee against Smuggling and Counterfeiting Destroying the Economy (CASCADE) to combat smuggling and drugs.
The theme for 2017 is "Protect Your Brand Globally: Fight Counterfeiting, Smuggling and Piracy".
"Senior functionaries from leading international institutions like World Customs Organisation (WCO), INTERPOL, United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Organisation for Economic Corporation and Development (OECD), US Homeland Security and US Patents and Trademarks Office will represent at the event," said a statement from FICCI's CASCADE.
According to the organisers, a detailed report titled "Illicit trade: Fuelling Terror Financing and Organised Crime" will be released during the two-day conference.
"This report is analysing growth figures, case studies, impacts and initiatives at the national and international level to understand the various dimensions of illicit trade with focus upon counterfeiting, piracy and smuggling for consumer products and its linkage in financing terrorism and organised crime," said the statement.
