Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday dedicated to the people 585 new power stations across the state.
A total of 200 power stations of 400 KV, 220 KV, 132 KV and 33 KV became operational on Saturday while foundation stones were laid for the other 385. The total cost of these power stations is Rs.3,993 crore.
Launching one of the biggest power stations in the state capital, Yadav accused the union government of not doing its bit to help the state tide over the power crisis.
"There is no cooperation from the central government, though some headway has been made recently. But I would like to assure the people of the state that we will fulfil our promise of 16 hours power to villages and 22 hours electricity to cities by 2016," he said.
He also said the people were the best judge of who was just making tall promises and who was fulfilling them.
