Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday accused the state government of preventing him from taking a flight to Prayagraj where he was to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Students Union at Allahabad University.
Yadav had to take a private plane but was stopped by a senior district official who reportedly said that the Samajwadi Party leader did not have permission to take the flight.
Akhilesh Yadav said the Uttar Pradesh government was so scared of him that they stopped him from attending the event.
As the news spread, scores of his party workers and leaders rushed to the airport.
