Uttar Pradesh will soon be establishing Nirbhaya centres in every district to enable quick relief to women victims, an official said Friday.
These centres will be opened in women hospitals and women police stations with the objective of providing prompt medical attention and relief to victims, the official added.
A committee will also be constituted under the chairmanship of chief secretary for supervising the running of these centres and ensuring early execution of required action for establishment of Nirbhaya centres.
Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan at a meeting Friday said nodal officers should be nominated from departments of home, medical and health, medical education and law departments.
The state government has also decided to provide all facilities and services concerned with women empowerment under one roof and to ensure necessary action at the earliest for setting up of Asha Jyoti Centres in pilot districts for providing integrated facility centre to women.
Ranjan also said that pilot districts should be linked with Nirbhaya mobile application of the home department.
The top bureaucrat also informed that the state government was taking sincere steps to ensure women security and quick help to women victims. He said that slackness in enforcing women-security and prompt relief to women victims will not be tolerated.
