US beat China 1-0 to face Germany in World Cup semis

The US edged off China 1-0 in the quarter-final of the 2015 Canada Women's World Cup here on Saturday, setting up a match-up with Germany in the last four.

Captain Carli Lloyd scored the sole goal of the match as she headed in the winner in the 51st minute, Xinhua news agency reported.

In an early match, Germany beat France 6-5 in the penalty shootouts after the sides ended 120 minutes by 1-1.
