At least one person was killed and over 60 people were injured when a passenger train was struck by a logging truck in the US state of West Virginia.
The accident occurred at about 1.30 p.m. Friday (1730 GMT) at the top of Cheat Mountain near the Randolph county in West Virginia, reported Xinhua citing local media.
According to James Wise, director of the Office of Emergency Services in Randolph County, one person died and more than 60 suffered injuries as two passenger cars of the train overturned in the accident.
All the injured were rushed to hospital, he added.
It all happened as the logging truck failed to stop at a railroad crossing and hit the train with people on board, said John Smith, president of Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad that owned the train.
