The US Department of the Treasury on Monday announced sanctions against three senior officials of the North Korea, media reported.
In a statement, the department said the sanctions are in conjunction with a State Department report on the North Korea, Xinhua news agency reported.
The sanctions freeze any US assets the designated officials may have and make it illegal for any US entity to conduct financial transactions with them.
Monday's move is the latest among a series of sanctions imposed by the US on the North Korea-related entities and individuals as efforts are being made towards the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.
