West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday batted for use of social networking sites to counter the alleged "smear campaign" by the media and the opposition.
"Use social networking sites to counter the smear campaign by section of the media and the opposition," she said while addressing students at the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad workshop here.
The Trinamool Congress chief hit back at a section of the media for drawing inferences regarding her meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his two-day visit to the state on May 9.
"If I go to a meeting with PM, media has a problem. If I don't, then also they have a problem," she said.
Mamata also accused the media of hyping "small incidents." "Small incidents are hyped up by the media now. I challenge them. TMCP will be a model for all," she said.
