Uttarakhand CM Rawat meets Modi, union ministers

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed issues related to state's development.

"The Prime Minister has asked me to adopt zero-tolerance policy on the issue of corruption," Rawat told reporters after meeting the Prime Minister in Parliament House.

Rawat said that he was in Delhi to discuss development related issues and the Prime Minister had assured him of all help.

Rawat also met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In his meeting with Rajnath, Rawat discussed modernisation of state police, while with Jaitley he talked about some long-pending issues of the state.

The newly-appointed Chief Minister also met party President Amit Shah and discussed the issue of portfolio allocation.

Later, in the evening, Rawat also met President Pranab Mukherjee.

After taking oath as Chief Minister, it was Rawat's first visit to Delhi.
