Brazilian football club Sao Paulo have confirmed the sale of highly-rated centre-back Rodrigo Caio to Spanish outfit Valencia.
The 21-year-old, who can also play in midfield, joins the Spanish club for an initial fee of 12.5 million euros with a further four million euros in performance-based add-ons, reports Xinhua.
"He will travel to Spain on Monday where he will undergo a medical and sign a contract," Sao Paulo said on their official website on Friday.
Caio, capped by Brazil's Under-20, Under-21 and Under-23 teams, was linked with a move to Spanish side Atletico Madrid last year before suffering a serious knee injury.
His move to Valencia comes a week after the club secured Andre Gomes from Portuguese side Benfica following the midfielder's successful loan spell there last season.
