Hundreds of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists Monday held a protest and pelted stones on police in Delhi against the arrest of VHP leaders ahead of a religious event in Ayodhya.
According to police, the VHP activists gathered at Jantar Mantar and marched upto parliament street police station around 11.30 p.m. They pelted stones on the police.
"As soon as they started pelting stones, we used water cannons and they dispersed," a police official said.
The Uttar Pradesh government Sunday stopped VHP from carrying out its "84 kosi parikrama yatra".
